What is a QSEHRA?

A Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement (QSEHRA) is a tax-advantaged health benefit that allows small businesses with fewer than 50 full-time employees to reimburse their workers for qualified health expenses, including individual health insurance premiums.

Unlike traditional group insurance, which requires employers to choose a plan and manage renewals, a QSEHRA lets employees shop for the coverage that best fits their needs. Employers set a monthly allowance, and employees submit proof of coverage or medical expenses to get reimbursed.
